The Collector’s House

One of the pearls of Budapest's Art Nouveau architecture is the ResoArt villa, designed by Albert Kőrössy in 1899, the façade of the building is decorated with lush ornamentation and mythological creatures. Entering the house we can admire the glass window made in the workshop of Miksa Róth, the greatest Hungarian master of Art Nouveau stained glass, which is preserved mostly in original condition despite the vicissitudes of the past century.

The guided tours are not only focusing on the popular Art Nouveau era and various arts, but also on the Zsolnay family, who created a Hungarian brand 150 years ago that is still world-famous, and its name is associated with the most sought-after artworks sold at the world's leading auction houses.

All this is connected deeply to the personality of the dedicated collector who shares his secret with the visitors by showing them the role of the value retention in his life, his motivations for renovating the Villa and for creating this special collection. He also reveals the sources of the objects, points out his favourite pieces and identifies the reason why he hasn’t sold anything from his collection yet.

Enjoy the hospitality of the collector, and join us in discovering this special, hidden treasure!
