Opening hours of the Liget Budapest Visitor Center:
All week, our colleagues are available for visitors you at the information desk, near the main entrance of the museum. Tickets for all the institutions in the park and for Liget Budapest's own programmes can be easily and conveniently purchased here, and our leaflets are also available so those wishing to return to Liget will not be left without information. Of course, there are toilets available to use in the area near the visitor centre, and the Etno Bistro, located right there, is a recommended cozy place for coffee, refreshments, sandwiches and even lunch. It's also an ideal place to relax and contemplate before or after a walk in the park.
Another highlight of the Visitor center - in addition to guiding visitors - is to increase the “Liget experience”. In connection with the 10th anniversary of the project, a temporary exhibition was held at the end of last year, but as a permanent attraction there is a 55 square meter city model - with 6000 buildings - depicting Budapest in the "Golden Ages", at the turn of the century, and we can also see the future state of the Liget project, which is still underway. With the help of "smart binoculars" and tablets, we can learn about the past and get information about the present and the future.
There are also projections on the walls: the buildings of turn-of-the-century Budapest are shown in the space opposite the Liget reception, and behind the model of the City Park there is a projection showing how this popular site looked before the Liget project and how it has been and will be thanks to the developments. Over the past 10 years of the project, our buildings have won many prestigious awards, and here we present them to you.
